The National Clergy Leadership Accelerator Program is a two-year program designed specifically for Greek Orthodox clergy. It addresses many of the unique challenges we face in ministry: managing parish administration while maintaining spiritual vitality, navigating hierarchical structures, protecting family and personal time amidst the constant demands of parish life, and developing leadership, delegation, and communication skills not typically taught in seminary.
The program includes six retreats (three per year), along with ongoing individual and group coaching between sessions.
Originally launched in the Metropolis of Chicago in 2024, the Leadership Accelerator Program is concluding its fourth cohort this fall. To date, thirty clergy from three Metropolises—as well as His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael of Chicago—have participated in the program.
With expanded capacity, the Leadership Accelerator Program is now open to applicants from all Metropolises. The next cohort will begin in September 2026.
The Archdiocesan Presbyters Council (APC) is supporting this effort by connecting interested clergy with program information and resources. This initiative represents a significant investment in clergy development across our Archdiocese, supported by a Leadership 100 grant that will cover 60% of the program cost.
When clergy are supported and equipped to lead effectively, entire parishes benefit. Families are strengthened. Communities grow. And we are better prepared to fulfill our calling as shepherds of Christ’s Church.
This is a valuable opportunity now available to clergy throughout the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.
The application for the September 2026 Cohort is now available, and those who submit by July 1, 2026 will receive priority consideration for the Fall 2026 cohort.
